As a host on We Are Scene, you may sometimes need to cancel a booking for various reasons (illness, unexpected incident, family constraints...). However, these cancellations have consequences and may result in penalties.
📌 ⚠️ Note: In the event of frequent cancellations, your listing will be taken down.
🔄 What are the consequences of a cancellation?
1️⃣ Your calendar will be blocked 📅 → The relevant date will show as unavailable, and no new booking can be accepted for that period.
2️⃣ A public comment may be left by the client ✍️ → If you cancel on or after the arrival date, the client will be able to post a review on your listing.
3️⃣ Risk of your listing being removed 🚫 → From 2 cancellations within 6 months, your listing will be automatically removed. → You'll only be able to republish it after contacting our customer service.
📍 Cancelling an instant booking: what are the rules?
If your listing has instant booking enabled, this means a client can book without your approval. However, you can cancel without penalty in certain specific cases:
✅ Cancellation without penalty is possible if:
🔹 The client has several concerning negative reviews.
🔹 You've asked the client questions and received no response.
🔹 The project doesn't comply with your house rules.
🔹 The client mentions in the chat that they may violate your rules.
⚠️ To avoid any penalty, the cancellation must be made within 24 hours of the automatic pre-approval. If this deadline has passed, contact customer service immediately.
📌 How do you cancel an instant booking without penalty?
📍 Steps to follow within 24 hours of pre-approval:
1️⃣ Go to your personal account → "My bookings."
2️⃣ Find the relevant booking.
3️⃣ Click "Cancel."
4️⃣ Send an email to [email protected] with:
Subject: "Cancellation"
Message: "I do not trust the client" or "The project violates my house rules."
5️⃣ You can also contact support by phone to report the cancellation.
6️⃣ You'll receive a confirmation email once the free cancellation is validated.
⚠️ If you cancel too many instant bookings, this option may be removed from your listing.
